Well that was an interesting couple of weeks! My first solo show has now finished. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it exceeded my expectations. I sold quite a few pieces and got some wonderfully positive feedback. I guess I’ve got to get my head down now and start producing work for my next show……yes there’ll be another!
The sun was shining into the studio today , and it was good!
So, I didn’t win, but I’m still pretty pleased to have got to the finals in a field of over seven hundred applicants, and I think ‘All One’ looks pretty good hanging at The House of St Barnabas in Soho Square.
This is a new piece I’ve been working on just back from the framer. I’m quite pleased with it and have called it ‘Infusion’
A couple of posts ago I wrote that I’d put a piece of my work forward for the Emerald Winter Pride Art Award.
The idea is that the judges look at photos of work before coming up with a shortlist of finalists and then see the actual work in order to pick the winner.
There were about seven hundred applicants for the award and guess what, yes, I have been chosen as one of the seventeen finalists.
On Monday we took the piece to The House of St Barnabas (a private members club in Soho Square in London) where the judging will take place and where the finalists will be exhibited. The winner (actually there are two awards so two winners) will be announced tomorrow evening so fingers crossed.
Whatever the result I’m pleased with my piece of artwork and pretty thrilled to be a finalist………though obviously I’d love to win!
My piece for the Emerald Winter Pride Art Competition ready for the framers and not finished at the last minute…….makes a change😀
